Todays work consists of a some sandblasts special orders and a preview of the Christmas pipe. I had to go with a new shape as the old one wouldn t pass a pipe cleaner. Please give me some feedback . The pipe is 2 1/8 tall , 6' long, 1.3/4 at the ring and will weigh 1.5 oz. The bowl is slightly conical being 3/4" at the bottom and a little larger at the top. It will easily pass a pipe cleaner <G>
The first proto I tried with a half diamond
shank, first on the top and then the bottom. I liked the top better and
below is the pix.
After doing this I decided I liked the bowl but not the shank and decided to try a full diamond shank with a saddle bit . I believe this worked as it really brought all the lines of the shape together. The long diamond shank lends it grace and is comfortable to hold.
