Todays I had the privilge of hosting two pipe smokers from the Bethlehem, PA area at the shop to make custom pipes for them. We had a good time chatting about pipes, drinking strong coffee and smoking some bowls. Dave Saeva brought with him a 7 sided Savenilli panel he wanted me to copy. Dave is also a fellow brother of the Mac Baren Golden Extra/Navy Flake club, of which we re probably the only members! We ve both discovered only some pipes smoke GE sweetly and those that don t seem to do well with NF. With the GE pipes being harder to find. After two bowls of the pipe I made for him he concluded it was a GE pipe.

While Dave has been up to the shop on numerous occaisions, this was the first visit for his friend Jim Mclaughin. After watching me make a pipe for Dave, Jim decided to go with a full bent dublin with a natural plateaux top. The briar was very light and seemed to have no weight at all.
Here s Jim and his pipe:
Feeling a little guilty and behind in my work from a 6 day fishing trip I plugged away and made a Special Order 1/4 bent bulldog in a Black & Tan finish for Charles Falance of ASP.
