I had the good fortune to be able to reprise the Dr. Bob pipe for "Buzz Ruppelt. He saw the original a few days ago and wanted a slightly smaller version. We worked back and forth on the shape and the finishing and this is what we came up with. I really enjoyed collaborating with him on this pipe !
Deciding to see if I could go further with the unique shank design on the Dr. Bob pipe I came up with this pipe and may continue this idea with other shapes in the future. This one is in the web catalog under Special Designs as SD15.
I also made a traditional Charatan short canadian which is named Longshank 81 and is available in te web catalog under Longshanks.
The last bit of work I did was a re-work. I had the top pipe for two years. I was a very tall straight grain with an irregular plateaux top and a very short stem. A total failure ! I got tired of looking at it and haad a chance to add a longer moire gracefull stem and to take the top off. From a previously ugly pipe a nice one emerges....
