Todays work consists of two special orders I made for customers. The first is a calabash Churchwarden. It s a difficult shape as my sanding discs dont really get into the crotch of the pipe and most of the final sandings were done by hand. But I think it was worth the extra effort.
Here s close ups of the 3 star straight grain !
The next pipe is for Mike Kidd. Mike s a fellow fly fisherman who fishes and guides in central Pa. I hope to meet and fish with him if it ever stops raining. He asked me to make an author with lines like a rhodesian. The pipe has a black and tan finish and a stunning radial straight grain.
