Todays work consists of two pipes that I made this morning. Both were based off a template I used for a special order for Mike Kidd that appeareda couple days ago in the Black and Tan finish. I varied the pipes to best fit the blocks i was using. They both turned out extremely well and are available in the web catalog as UB 231 and 232. Very unusual to get two pipes in the Pristine finish and straight grains to boot!. The day continued well as after I finished the pipes I wen t fishing. As bad as yesterday was today was good !
Today I caught fish until I was tired of it. Pretty amazing ! There are some natural little known streams in the Poconos that no one fishes or are mostly private. I fished this one once last year with pretty much the same results. This time tho all sections of the stretched produced instead of just the deep pool. I used a Hendrickson nymph for the first dozen or so. Moved up to the pool just as the hatch was starting. Fish raising all over the place !!!! I had to change flies 3 times as they got so slimmed up. I caught one natural rainbow which is very rare up here. Beautiful color. The rest were browns with alot of gold and red. These weren t big fish. The biggest may have been 11 inches . But they were perky jumping all over the place. It was great fun. Fly fishing at it s best
