Today s work consists of some very special pipes. The first is a collaboration between Paul Bonaquisti, Trevor Talbert, and myself. I had a special order for a very deep natural sanblast billiard. This begged for a Trevor blast. Paul has been doing some great handcut stems and I thought he d be perfect for the job. After an exchange of e mails both pipe makers agreed to be part of the project I cut the billiard and left the rest up t o them. All pipes should be that easy. As it s a virgin finish all I had to do was sand the interior of the bowl and polish the small area where the stamp went. I think the result speaks for itself!
This next special order required a Trevor Blast also in a Tanblast finish. The birdseye is particularly well articulated.
The next pipe resulted from a screw up. I listed the same pipe twice, SB183 & 185, in the web catalog; I sold 185 . When a good customer ordered 183 I discovered the mistake. I made this pipe for him to compensate. I don t know if he ll take a smooth but its the least I can do for now.
