Today s work consists of of one special order for Mike Cherba, who came to the shop today for a visit. Mike saw my pipes at El Humidor in WIlkes Barre. He purchased a Christmas pipe and decided as he lived close to come see how it was done. Mike brought with him some great Hendrickson dry flies, nymphs and emergers for me to try when we go fishing in the Spring of this year. Turns out he s fished with my mentor, Cranky Bob, and has known him for many years. Small world.....
I designed a pipe that would work well as a fishing pipe. It had a couple flaws on the bottom so I finished it using a Coral carve along with the new Mocha stain. It grades out as a Black & Tan which is becoming the catch all for any smooth /coral combinations , size 6.
