Getting ready to order lucite stems for the year and realized I had better start thinking about the 2001 Christmas pipe. I have been thinking about it and decided to try a modification of the 1988 model which was a straight billiard with a 1/2 diamond shank. I thought it may look interesting in a 3/4 bent. I picked up a block and sketched using the template of the 88 as the bowl model and freehand sketching the shank. Concerns are that it s not too much like a shape another company already makes and it has universal appeal . The bowl is 2 1/8 and it s 6 " long. The width at the top is 1.25 and at it s largest 1.5" My feeling is the stem could be a little shorter but it feels well balanced at that length. Opinions appreciated.
