Merry Christmas everyone!
As many people on the group know, Mark Tinsky and I have a tradition of
making a pipe for each other to celebrate the holidays. Each year we come up
with a new design that we collaborate on, and occasionally make these pipes
again during the year, such as last years design that big Josh and the ever
elusive Nizo got recently... :-) We usually make the pipes in the fall,
around the Richmond show. This year, we made the pipes during the
Thanksgiving holiday, when Mark and MaryAnn came up for one of the best
Turkey days in recent memory... :-)
This years design is a long stemmed apple, inspired by our friend Maurizio of
LeNeuvole pipes in Italy. We played around with the shape a bit, so each is
a little different. Both have nice tan blasts, and good sized bowls. I am
glad Christmas is here, so I can finally smoke it! As part of the tradition,
we don't smoke the pipes until Christmas morning, when we both get a chance
to relax, light our pipes and think about friends far and near... and the
good times we share all year long!
