Today s work consists of some special orders and a new freehand for the web store. The first two are for my good friend Ron Much. He sent me a pix of a Ser Jacapo that he got from Frenchy that he wanted me to do my own take on. We are really happy with the results:
1 Star Size 4 Mocha
Ron had this to say about the pipe:
Mark
I received the pipe just a few minutes ago. It looks even better than the
Picture shows. Everything turned out very good. The size and feel are excellent.
I do not know how you get such a smooth finish on Your pipes. Man the feels
is like a clean baby's bottom. :o)This pipe has a nice deep chamber. Guess
what? I think this will make a very good Flake Pipe but, I am going to break
it in with Bohemian Scandal. Man I am very happy. Now lets go fishing.
Thanks
runamuck
The very next day I was doing a catalog shape Dublin for a customer. In my usual fashion I screwed up the order and instead of reading the e mail closely I neglected to note he wanted a Panel Dublin.! However, the initial Dublin turned out well and I knew who would like it, so I sent a pix to Ron who now owns the pipe
1 Star Mocha Size 4
Ron is now done for this edition !
Another repeat customer is Michael Pateris. About two weeks ago I made him a calabash and he was so happy with it he ordfered another in a blast. Well once in awhile things turn out better than you hope and I got this which he gladly accepted:
2 Star Cabernet Size 5
Joff Boston ordered this Size 4 Blond Coral Billiard:
The next two pipes were ordered by Stephen Larrett. The first is on OOPS. This happens when a pipe is ordered off the web catalog that I forget to delete and gets sold a second time. I was lucky and was able to make a pipe with better grain than the original:
BB 50_2 Two Star Black & Tan Size B
The second pipe is a Cabernet Size B 1 Star
Catalog shape Full Bent
This last pipe was made one night I had a visitor to the shop and was asked to demonstrate pipe making. I whipped up this Freehand which turned out to have surprisingly nice grain and is available in the web store as:
FH 86 2 Star Black & Tan
It is now time to go fishing !
