Today s work consists of some interesting
special order pipes. The first is the 2005 Club for the Sherlock Holmes
Pipe Club, of Boston. They selected my Caldron in a blast finish with a
smooth top:
The next two pipes are commorative pipes.
The first for Kevin Getten is to memorialize his graduation from Penn State
College this year. I was doing a show in Wilkes Barre and we met and discussed
the pipe. He loves the Coral finish and wanted one to match another pipe
he had. After looking at it I recognized it as one Glenn had done the Coralizing
on. Fortunately he was home this week from school and did the carving on
the pipe. The second thing he wanted was a heavy silver band with his graduation
date engraved on it. My silversmith was able to accomodate his wished. The
third thing was a Cumberland bit:
At about the same time I received another
commemorative pipe order from Robert Keegan. Very much like Kevin's except
he wanted a large "tomato" shape with custom band and engraving
to commemorate a friend:
The next pipe is a copy of a customers
favorite but aging pipe that was in for repair, a very classic billiard
for Dave Molthen :
The next pipe is a copy of one of my own designs that Dave Zembo found on Annti K' s ( of Finland ) web page. A nice Prince:
Lastly is a special pipe for a special
customer, Buddy Springman. I worked with his wife in selecting and making
this 2 star Mocha Rhodesian. Happy Birthday Buddy !
